In September 2009 FineLine Multimedia began working with the Fred Rogers Center on developing a promotional video to support their e-marketing initiative. The goal: to promote the legacy of Fred Rogers as a champion of children’s education and highlight the work and success of the center.
Saint Vincent College professor, Dr. Dawn Edmiston, provided marketing consultation to ensure a consistent message between the promotional video and e-marketing initiative.
Pre-production consisted of script writing and story boarding. “Beyond the Neighborhood,” a promotional piece developed by the Fred Rogers Center acted as the primary source for the script. Jessica Fick, junior english major at the college, worked with FineLine Multimedia to edit the first draft of the script.
Production began September of 2009 and concluded late October. Television personality and FRC advisor David Hartman provided the voice over.
The video officially launched on February 22, 2010 and has received 3,100 hits in the first 10 weeks. Since its release the video has won numerous awards.
